• Peugeot has revealed prices this week for the All-New 208 range, including the all-electric e-208.

    The all-new 208 is the first vehicle to fulfil PEUGEOT’s new philosophy of ‘choose your PEUGEOT, choose your powertrain’. Featuring the choice of diesel, petrol or all-electric powertrains, the all-new 208 and e-208 will be available in Active, Allure and GT Line trim levels. The e-208 is also available in range-topping GT trim.

    The e-208 uses a 50kWh battery and 136hp electric motor to provide a 211 mile range (WLTP) from a full charge. The all-new 208 is also available with a choice of four advanced petrol engines and one highly efficient diesel.

    In the entry level ‘Active’ trim, the 208 starts from £16,250, while the e-208 ‘Active’ costs from £28,550*. When moving up to the ‘GT Line’, prices start from £20,700 for the 208 and £31,600* for e-208. The range topping e-208 ‘GT’ costs £33,150*.

    Available early 2020, the All-New Peugeot 208 and e-208 can be ordered from 22nd August.

  • Pricing has also been revealed for the All-New fifth generation Renault Clio.

    Redesigned inside and out, Renault states the New Clio is more spacious and refined than ever, with the addition of cutting edge driving assistance and infotainment systems. The All-New Clio also continues Renault’s strong tradition for safety, having already been awarded a five-star EuroNCAP rating.

    The All-New Clio is available in Play and Iconic trim levels, as well as new S Edition and R.S. Line versions. Prices start at £14,295 for the Play trim and goes up to £17,795 for the R.S. Line.

    The All-New Renault Clio is available to order now, with first deliveries expected late October.

    A Hybrid version of the Clio will also be available from mid-2020.


  • Vauxhall’s first ever plug-in hybrid, the Grandland X Hybrid4 is available to order now.

    The powertrain comprises an electric drive system with two electric motors, all-wheel drive, a 13.2kWh lithium-ion battery and a 1.6T four-cylinder petrol engine (combined 300hp) that has been specially engineered for the hybrid application and offers 32 miles of range in full electric mode.
      
    Offered in four different trims, with all models featuring the same powertrain and emissions levels, with varying levels of on-board equipment and technology. The Business Edition Nav Premium is available for £35,590, which Vauxhall claims brings with it best-in-class benefit-in-kind. This equates to a saving of £145 per month over a Grandland X Elite Nav 1.5 Turbo D and £49 over the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV over 48 months.


  • Hyundai has added to their popular Kona lineup with the New Kona Hybrid.

    The Kona Hybrid is the brands latest electrified models to join their expanding range of eco-friendly vehicles, joining the Kona Electric, the hydrogen powered Nexo, the recently refreshed IONIQ range of electric powertrains and the 48V mild-hybrid Tucson.

    The Hyundai Kona Hybrid goes on sale at the end of September, with prices starting at £22,495.
  • The aforementioned Hyundai IONIQ range, consisting of Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Electric models, has received design changes both inside and out, as well as upgraded battery power and range to the all-electric models. The electric battery has now been increased to 38.3 kWh, which can achieve a maximum range of 184 miles (WLTP).

    The New Hyundai IONIQ range starts from £22,795 and are available to order now.



  • This week Hyundai also launched its first car fitted with a solar roof charging system, the New Sonata Hybrid.

    The solar roof system includes a structure of silicon solar panels that are mounted on the car’s roof. Being able to charge even while driving, the solar roof system can charge 30% to 60% per cent of the battery per day with 6 hours of daily charging. Hyundai expect this to increase drivers’ travel distance by an extra 800 miles annually.

    The New Sonata is now on sale in Korea and will soon be sold in North America. Hyundai currently has no plans to expand sales of this model to the European market.

    In the coming years, Hyundai will roll out the technology to other vehicles across its range.


 

  • Tesla has reintroduced unlimited free Supercharging on all newly sold Model S and Model X cars. Whilst the offer currently has no expiration date, Tesla state that the free access will be removed if the buyer sells or transfers ownership of the vehicle.

    A Tesla Model S or Tesla Model X powered by a 85 kWh battery pack will take 20 minutes for a 50% charge, 40 minutes for 80% charge and 75 minutes for 100% charge using a supercharger.
